Get rid of Mayor Nickel's ban of firearms on public property and enforce current laws. This would save a lot of time, money, and energy on needless litigation. The real issues around crime are more systemic (socio-economics, education, etc.) and need to be addressed in the right forums.

No to guns!!! I am for the gun ban, why do we need guns? It makes no sense to allow more people to walk around with guns. Guns make "criminal violence" too convenient, we need to make it as inconvenient as possible. It may have already saved lives & will continue to do so!!!!

SnoCounty is "considering a llowing people to carry in parks?" Duh... State preemption prohibits banning lawful carry of firerams. People have been lawfully carrying in parks for decades. What's the problem? Not family friendly? How do you protect YOUR fanmily? Diall 9-1-1 and wait ten minutes?

"There are gun ranges for that," he said. "Guns don't belong in parks where there are families."
Park goer Kent Welcker doesn't own a gun, but was in favor of the measure.
"We have constitutional rights," he said. "Most of the people I've been around use guns responsibly."
The measure, due to go before a council committee next month, is in contrast with Seattle's move to ban guns in city parks. That city ban has been challenged in court by gun rights advocates.

I agree. The gun ban goes against state law so we have a mayor that is already breaking the law. The gang members and drug dealers will be in parks with guns regardless of what this arrogant mayor says. It is criminal violence not "gun violence" How does disarming legal gun owners who are trained and know the law going to protect anyone from the criminals that do not??? Illegal is illegal
