Tool Lending Libraries have been around for 30 years. We have one already in Phinney Ridge. We should have one in every neighborhood in Seattle. These are an opportunity to bring community together to share resources to make Seattle a better place. Working together builds community. How better to work together than sharing in every day tasks... instead of everyone having to own a 30' ladder to clean their gutters, why not just check one out of the library. Need help with a project, or want to help your neighbors, why not do it through the tool lending library? Unemployed and looking for productive things to do, to learn useful skills, etc - why not meet up with others at the tool lending library?
We need facilities to bring the community together. This is just one idea. We've seen it elsewhere before, and it works. Why not take the opportunity to scale it up.
